W1, T2: Inference

Welcome back! We have hit the ground running and have started literacy groups. Miss Laxa's literacy group is focused on inference. What is inference? Inference is about looking for clues and using what you know to read between the lines. Our first activity was about guessing what this French poster was about.

Google a day

We use Google a day as an independent reading task. It tests our ability to understand what we are reading,  use keywords and sort information - is it helpful?

We get REALLY competitive but the aim is to try and beat OUR best score (personal best).

W3, T2: Dramatising Wonder

This term we have been reading R.J. Palacio's Wonder and learning about empathy. For reading, we analysed a chapter called " Nice Mrs. Garcia" and talked about how each character felt. We put ourselves into the character's shoes and wrote in "role". What was the character thinking at this point of the story?

As a group, we wrote a script for our drama presentation. Tomorrow we will be presenting our drama piece to the class!
