W11, T1: Cross country

It's finally here.

Weeks of training - beep test, running around the field and up the hills - it all came down to our cross country yesterday.

I'm very proud of everyone who tried their best and finish the cross country. I like the way you tried to compete against yourself and do your best all the time.

W4, T4: Planting experiments

For science, we are looking at adaptations.

We planted seeds to find out how a living thing will react to its environment.
We started with a "control" - a plant that was planted "normally".  We chose to change one thing in our experiment. Some of us changed the amount of soil, the amount of water, using paper towels instead of soil, halving the seed....etc. This was our "experiment plant".

The "control plant" is there to compare how the "experiment plant" will react to a different environment. We are looking forward to what happens next.

W3, T3: Coding for Maths

Last week, for maths we learnt about coding. Coding allows us to practise logic and reasoning.  We used a lot of problem solving skills. Did we stop and think about it? Will trial and error work? Can our past experiences help us? Did we ask a friend to give us a clue?

Our teachers gave us 3 challenges and gave us only a few clues.

The first coding challenge was to make our name change our colour by clicking on it. Click on the letter to change the colour.

Friday activities.

Thank goodness the sun is out! What a lovely Friday morning. On Fridays, we assess ourselves on spelling, basic facts and handwriting.

It's time to reflect on what we have done this week. What goals do we need to focus on next week? Have we improved?

We also bring our homestudy on Friday. Check out these boys doing their homestudy on Friday morning before school starts.
