W6, T3: Speeches

We have been working really hard on our speeches last week. We presented to small groups or to the whole class. We used a google form to assess each speaker. These brave learners were keen to present to the class AND represent us in the speech finals.

Proud of Millie, Pene, Dian, Dishita, Srija, Abdul, Adriana, Aggie, Pearl, Nazia, Pooja, Joshua, Pranay and Ruby.

 Room 12 and Room 13 were especially proud of Pooja and Nazia who were too shy to present last year and decided to present to the whole class this year. Check out their speeches here:

Challenge Coding 3 Maths

It was challenge time! Using trial and error, we had to make a letter rotate and then reset the letters from the beginning.
Pearl's project:
Click the up arrow on your keyboard to rotate. Then, click the down arrow on your keyboard to reset the letter.

It took Amelia all Friday afternoon to figure this one out. Amelia thought it was a great idea to put instructions on the side too! Click your space bar to start and the green flag to stop and reset it to the beginning.

W3, T3: Coding for Maths

Last week, for maths we learnt about coding. Coding allows us to practise logic and reasoning.  We used a lot of problem solving skills. Did we stop and think about it? Will trial and error work? Can our past experiences help us? Did we ask a friend to give us a clue?

Our teachers gave us 3 challenges and gave us only a few clues.

The first coding challenge was to make our name change our colour by clicking on it. Click on the letter to change the colour.
